Of course it counts. The only votes that don't count are by the people who don't vote.

I'm beginning to think only some votes count.
The US is the only country that uses electronic voting that does not leave a paper trail. There is no legitimate reason for this.
Didn't Ohio have a couple of precincts in 2004 where more Republican votes were tallied than people living in the precinct?
That should have been a prima facia case for voter fraud, or certainly for an independent investigation.
The more I read about this, the more it stinks.

No! It's a stunt to make people feel as if they 2 matter, or are important to the goverment that's why whenever the are elections in my country (South Africa) i never go & vote. The are approximately 45 million people here so what makes me think that me voting or not will make the diference. But that's just how i feel!

Thanks to gerrymandering I live in a non-competitive district. Sure everyone should vote, but I am far less inclined to believe that my vote matters in a district that has been purposely stitched together to heavily favor one party every election day. If voting districts refelcted the geography and not party lines then I feel each vote would be much more meaningful.

Very simply put, of course your vote counts. If all votes did not count, then there would be 0 votes. Logical.

yes I really do believe my vote counts. I don't like the electorial college, I wish it would go by the popular vote, meaning the man or woman who got the most votes won, but if we don't vote it won't count either way.

You're damn right I do. At the very best my vote puts the person in office who I believe should be there. At the very least, it negates the vote of some poor, misguided fool who voted for Junior.

If you do not believe your vote counts, then try an experiment with me.
Check out my blog, and my e-mail will tally the score.
I think I have a chance.

Very much so, especially here in Australia. Why? Well, for starters, you are voting for YOUR area and does not vote for a collective leader (i.e. president). Next, we get to have preferences, which means we use numbers rather than a tick. Finally, if we don't do it, we get fined.

Yes, I do and I urge you to believe in it. America needs good people to represent her and she needs all the help she can get. Please do not turn her down and vote for our real people not for a group of fake and crook people who steal American people money and feel nothing about it. You know what I am talking about ? Midterm Election.
