ask them what every music journalist asks...you know all the boring predictable q's...
who are their influences?
what would they be doing if they weren't in the band?
what's it like being the only female in the band?
blah blah
good luck

6)How do you like life on the road?
7)Best place you have ever played?
8)Are any of you married?
9)Do you do any cover versions in your shows?
10)Who would you like to work with?
11)If people wanted to know more about you, does the band have a website?
12)What's your favorite food?
13)How did the band come up with it's name?
14)Were any of you in any bands before this one?
15)What movies do you watch when you are traveling?
16)What's the t.v. show you have to watch?
17)What kind of clothes do you wear onstage?

I hope that helps and, when you are going to interview them, the lead singer will probably decide of what question the band is going to take next.

Ask how they got together, who are their influences, funniest thing to happen on the road, any advice they have for other bands. Also, try to find out where they grew up, and ask them what they miss, and what are they hoping to achieve besides commercial success.
I don't know about the conducting an interview part, but you could look through transcripts of other interviews, or look online for videos of interviews. Basically -Do Your Homework. You should already know most of the answers that they are gonna give you as far as where they are from, etc. Also, if you know a bit about them, then you will run less of a risk of making them mad or offending them.

How about:
"What is the most interesting fact about your band you want the world to know?"
Don't be nervous, just remember they are people too. I think most bands in my experience appreciate informality, act like you're already friends, crack a joke, don't worry about it -- it'll come out just fine. If you've got a tape recorder, just disregard structure and wing it -- get to know them.

Questions- How did you come up with your name?
Do you all really get along?
Who wrote the songs on your album?
What inspires you?
What were your musical influences growing up?
Be very natural ,but respectful. Always let them finish what they are saying before you talk. Smile lots. Never say Um..and ah.
Ask them to introduce themselves BEFORE YOU START YOUR INTERVIEW.
Well I hope this was helpful. Good luck

the best question to end the interview with....because it's light and always funny...
if you all were trapped on a desert island with no food, which band member would you eat first and why?
trust me---it makes them laugh every time!
