Exact and estimate are mutually exclusive, as April has already pointed out. The remainder of my answers would be considered stupid, just as my estimate of most of New York's population. Exactly.

Second responder has supplied decent numbers, but there is a caveat: what do you want to include? Warm bodies within the city limits only, or also people in the suburbs, and if so, how far out do you want to go? The same issue arises in trying to figure population in any large metropolitan area.

stupid answers?? Well if you hadnt asked a stupid question. No one can give you an "exact estimate". Its doesnt exist!!!!!!! They can give you either and "exact number" or an "estimate" Not both.. buy a dictionary
