i think it's a good idea. i've had a barbecue for christmas when i was in new zealand, the chilly december air just made it perfect for people to huddle around and eat warm grilled burgers. it's perfect. hot cocoa...hotdogs...burgers...

Seeing as we're in Australia & Christmas day tends to be about 30 degrees celcius that's how we celebrate - with a huge bbq!

Well not for Christmas, but we did for Thanksgiving one year. We lived in florida and cooked our turkey dinner the day before Thanksgiving. The day OF Thanksgiving, we went to the beach with all of our fixins. It was ok.....but we never did it again. It was much better at home the day of.

I haven't, and I've never heard of anyone doing that - but then again I live in New England, so it wouldn't be an option. I imagine with the right climate and with doing it up in a particularly nice way it could be nice.

well if you live in a warmer climae yes. we did one yr when we went to sandiego california as it was 90 degrees at 8:30 in the morning. merry christmas. if its cold where your having the cook out i feel sorry for the cook as they will probably freeze.

i live in canada and we once bbq are turkey on christmas only because we could it wasnt as traditionally as we would have liked
