In a country like India many superstitious people are here. so is it bad or not??????????/

some superstitions are good and some are bad . some have scientific reason .
1. Being superstitious is bad because of it may cause you to be involve in some BABA or FRAUD TANTRI.
2. SUPPOSE YOU ARE ILL BUT YOU ARE IN STRONG BELIEF THAT YOU ARE ALL RIGHT IT WILL IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH.
HENCE THIS WRONG BELIEVE IS GOOD

Not at all bad or wrong, unless it becomes an obsession, then it's still not bad or wrong, only a problem that can be overcome. I walk under ladders, love black cats, see Friday the 13th as just another day, put hats on beds, open umbrellas in the house, but will once in a while I knock on wood for luck & throw spilled salt over my left shoulder for the same reason and I do avoid the number 666, I have over 700 DVD films, and there isn't a number 666 (I number them and keep a list for easy finding of a film) the Numbers go from 665 to 665-A to 667. See, we are all superstitious to a point.

Superstitions are bad if that guides you on the wrong way but they are right if that gives a new light in life. For example the superstitious practice of 'sati' in India for example is bad because the bride is to live all her rest of life even if her dear husband dies unfortunately. The superstition is right in the case where the food is best served first to the 'birds' around you and eaten later by you. Hope that answers you alright?

I used to be superstitious but I kinda stopped caring. I think if I am superstitious the bad things will get to me but if I'm not, nothing really happens.

It is actually good to be superstitious once in a while. The world has many myteries, and you do not know what will happen at the next moment so it's better to be safe than sorry.

its a BAD thing bcuz u get tension out of nothing for no reason u blame someone but in a country like India everybody is somewhere superstitious ......

Ignorance is always bad and dangerous. Superstion is substituting knowledge when there is nothing better so it may be misleading. Yet some so called superstions may be based on real cause and effect connection between events. Like dreams could be a subconsios realisation of trends pointing to probable future development.

The less you believe in superstitions the better it is. Try to find logic or some scientific reason before you believe in some thing.
We believe superstitions blindly.......open your eyes and your mind and try to find out big "WHY" behind it.and u will soon find out that superstitions is world or uneducation and ignorance, believe in God but for that you just have to be a good human and nothing more than it. Do good deeds and you are closer and closer to God. More than this is not needed.
as in India we say: KARM KIYE JA , PHAL KI CHINTA NA KAR...
JAISE KARM KAREGA, WASE PHAL DEKGA BHAGWAN..... and this is very true.... heaven and hell is here on this earth. Just believe in good deeds and forget the rest.

One man's superstition is another man's religion. Whether it is bad/wrong depends on your point of view. It is my understanding that there are many local religions in India. The fact that they differ from each other does not necessarily make one bad/wrong, and another good/right, you know?
