India and Pakistan Elevens can at any time play against each other. But by keeping them indifferent groups perhaps the organisers wanted them to have good practice sessions and then confront each other in a better and competent way. There is nothing wrong in it. Is there? If they were just to play against each other the games of both would lose novelty and may become a dull affairs except for those who take an unsportsmanlike interests in the results.

Absolutely not. India vs. Pakistan matches draw the biggest crowds and the most viewers on TV. Think of it more of a mistake that they were placed in two different groups.

Not at all. I think that I.C.C. selected the teams in each Group based on the Ranking of each Team at the time of finalising the Teams in each Group, as you will find the top 2 teams in the ranking in different Group. A belikeve they have selected alternate teams based on the ranking in each Group.
