You know, if I had of asked "Can you name a heterosexual chief, I think the answers would have been really different. Also, every culture wants people to look up to. I do agree that a persons sexuality "shouldn't" matter, but this is the real world, where it is good to know that there are queer people who have sucessful careers. It has been proven for people coming out, that it helps to know, that there are extremely sucessful people to look up to and say "well if that person can get ahead in this homophobic world, then maybe I can as well".

no i am a chef but i do not have a cook book yet
but i am sure there would have to be one out there

There are probably a lot of them and you just don't know it. So, who cares? A good cook is a good cook, period. Only a small-minded idiot would care about the sexual preferences of a chef.

Please let me understand, why should the sexuality of any chief be of interest to you?

If your admirer anyone's work in his or hers chosen profession, why is it important to know their sexuality?
