I must agree nothing says tacky like an eighteen carrot diamond ring with a 24 carat gold necklace embedded with a black diamond worth about $500 000. But you see allot of women are like crows if it shines they are attracted to it, unless of course it is a bald head that is shiny...

I only wear jewelery on special, dress-up occasions, otherwise all you'll find me wearing is my plain gold wedding band and my 25th anniversary ring. (It's a sapphire) I'm one of those rare women who hates diamonds, when I do wear jewels they are sapphires or emeralds, diamonds are just shiny glass to me. But men think we all love jewels, especially plain and tacky diamonds. I wish I knew why. I'd rather have silk roses, I hate watching real ones wither and die.

Yes, I agree with you totally. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer flowers and chocolates myself. I think there are a lot of things taken for granted like that and there should be more allowances made for each person's individual interests and needs, rather than put a group of people into one category.

I dont think a real diamond is tacky at all.... a diamond is beautiful and stunning. Agreed that costume jewels are tacky. eww.

see its been always thr "diamonds are a girls best friend"....diamonds are pretty expensive and yes most of the women love diamonds..so its quite practical for the guys to think or assume that all women like diamonds....so if you dont like diamonds thats perfect...tell your guy and am sure he wud try and find better ways to win your heart...
i personaly love diamonds and jwelery...i own quite a few of thm..but pretty recently my astrologer asked me not to wear diamonds..can you imagine? so now i wear rubies and emeralds.
