My friend says that guys sub-consciously like women with bigger hips and whom happen to be pear shaped because they are more likely to concieve a baby. What do you think?

I've heard this too. It was explained, oddly enough, by Bill Nye teh Science Guy on some late nite talk show one nite. He explained how and why guys are attracted to, well, more attractive females and what makes them attractive to them. I personally like a girl who looks fit or at least takes care of herself. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that if you take care of yourself, you can take care of your future children as well. It's also prolly cause I''m in the military and see mostly fit people all the time. I run at least 5 miles a day, 3 times a week and it shows. I don't look for someone to match that but it doesn't hurt.

Ask men only. Then, ask women only.
I don't think a general statement is valid.
I do think that each man is attracted to his ideal. And that could be as simple as "someone shorter than me'' or "someone so beautiful that other men will envy me."
Unfortunately, real women don't usually look like emaciated and air-brushed models. Some dumb guys think that they should.
The hard-wired, pear shape ideal has become less hippy over the centuries. But, yes, it is the preferred shape for the reason you gave. There were a lot of studies done on that.

Let me just say. ULtraThin is NOT attractive! Anyone that thinks Nichole & Paris are hot needs some serious evaluation. Get some meat on your bones and eat ionce in a while. The hips thing is just a preference of some men and I agree it has nothing tp to do with child bearing abilitites. I'm sure your friend is attractive and that he has self confidence. I think that is an important issue. Are you confident in your looks? Then that is what makes you even the more beautiful!

I think you used the word "fat" in a wrong way fat means body is not toned out put shaped while thick is where you have big thighs and a body but I find that very ignorant to say and rude to me considering I'm thick bit I've noticed when I'm around my friends and I ( there thin) the group of guys we hang out with get more attracted to me but then again idk

its not so much it's more likely as easier to birth...as far what they like...its like this...every guy I don't care who they are or what they say...drolls over the perfect small, firm, tight lil body that every girl only dreams of having...however most men only droll over that and really want a real girl...someone is closer to your description as with that perfect girl...if they were lucky enough to get her would always feel inferrior and have huge worry over their head of she'll leave him for a better looking guy.

i think its the mind and thinking of the girl which matters more and not the body look of girl. other wise 34to 36-26to29-35 to37 is considered to be best figure.

Having big hips have nothing to do with conceiving babies. But if that's what makes your friend feel better about her size then let her keep telling herself that. Who is she trying to convince herself or you?
