It sounds like there is a little ambulance siren in it when I turn it on, not to mention the fact that it won't boot at all.
Also, the light for the harddrive on the front is red instead of green.
Scary.

Thank you all, but I think it's better. I started it again and it gave me the option of starting it in safe mode, which I did. I will do that again and back up the files, in case it happens again.

Be sure that the temperature in the room of your computer is NOT too hot. Turn down the heat or close the vents in the room if you have the heat going.

The siren is something overheating. It's not a bad hard drive, it's not bad RAM. Something is overheating. Make sure all the fans in your case are working properly. Especially the fan on your processor. if all fans are working, you need to test it by disconnecting devices one at a time (RAM and CPU last) and see if the siren sound is still there. Once you remove a piece that makes the siren stop, you've found that part that is overheating. Though it's most likely your processor. If you get all the way down to only the RAM and CPU and the siren is still going, it's your CPU.

It's also not a continuous beep, it's an actual siren sound like a police car.

Could be RAM but un likely. what does it say when i cant boot up? it says a certain file cant be booted up right? most likely the hard drive is seizing up. which means your computer is dead and must get a new hard drive and loose every single piece of information on the computer.

Your Hard Drive is worn out. It will have to be replaced. I hope that you have backed up the files that you wish to keep, as they will be lost. Unless you know what you are doing, it is best to take your computer to a local computer repair shop to be repaired.

Your power module or hard drive and/or the cooling fan is telling you good buy! Check those items and if you don't know how to do it take it to reputable shop in your area. And while you are at it ask them to do a thorough maintenance/clean up of your system.

Good luck
