I hate hearing that damn sound on the TV or radio. It's so creepy, especially at night. I was on the computer (on here actually lol) the other night and I was listening to the radio and they put it on and was freaking scary! The sound is so eerie!!!!

Yeah. Especially when it's followed by an actual ALERT, which is more frequently then it ever was, what with dangerous thunderstorms, coastal flood warnings, tornado watches.....much scarier.

Actually, the most recent warnings that I've heard were Amber Alerts! That is very creepy indeed! And yes...it is always an alarming sound and it so hard to wait for them to tell you what type of alert it is! Ooops, sorry...the last one I heard was a test! Now that is so cruel! You sit there, intensely listening and it isn't even a real alert! Not nice!

Yes. It totally creeps me out. It stops me from doing whatever I am doing until the sound stops and I know everything is ok.

yes it really creeps me out it is so scary im so scared that one day something is really gonna come over the thing and really freak me out and if it ever does happen ill probally have a break down

Yeah! they should make it a little less annoying... Like a gentle "hey, just thought you'ld like to know a tornado is heading your way." or " IF you go outside right now, you might be on TV!"

I think that it strikes us as creepy because it has been established as an emergency tone, you know, that something has gone wrong. But i agree, it is creepy.

Um...no. But I find it incredibly intriguing that it freaks you out. I think that's pretty sweet lol. Actually it makes me wish it did the same to me.

Yea, the way the volume blows you out of bed, why don't they just say "Battle stations, missiles heading this way" !
