Ive visited Finland several times and several places of it, I guess it will be interesting depending what you like. I think that going to Finland is about going to the nature, specially in summer. The landscapes are beautiful, the saunas are one thing in a kind, there´s good local beer, beautiful lakes, etc. Try to make friends too, that will be loads of fun, since they can be quite shy at the beginning, but after u get to know them their hospitality is incredible. In my opinion if you just wanna see cities, nightlife and stuff, go to Sweden to Stockholm or some, but if you like adventure, and incredible nature Finland is a good option. The nightlife in Helsinki was nice but very average, and finns seem to drink a lot LOL. Obviously my opinion is the one of a tourist, but I can say that my holidays have been of the best and I strongly recommend Finland for your holidays. Some book by lonely planet can help you even more to find interesting things to do there.

I live in Finland - and yes, there is lot of night life, especially in the cities. But even in the smaller places people go out for drinks regularly - Finnish people do drink a lot, especially on weekends. There are lots of night clubs which play various music styles, there are gay places, pubs, concerts, performances etc. The liveliest places is of course Helsinki, but there is quite a bit happening all over the country, especially in the summer with numerous open-air concerts. In most clubs they have a cover charge, but it's not too expensive - from 6 to 12 euros. You can get more information about night life in Finland on www.finnguide.fi or http://www.helsinkiexpert.fi/helsinkithisweek_eng/

Yes, I've been there.
It's a beautiful, clean country. It's nicest to go during the summer, because it's usually warm, and there's 24 hours of sunlight. There's lots to do if you like nature.
In the winter, it's very cold and dark (maybe 3-4 hours of sunlight per day), so it can be depressing.
If you're in a big city like Helsinki, night life is good. If you go to smaller cities and towns it can be really dead.

Yeah, it's worth visiting. But only the bigger places, Helsinki in particular. One exception could be the holiday places in Lapland during the winter, like Saariselkä or Levi.
