dont take it personal he just means he wants you to have your own life... he wants to have time to miss you.. so try not calling him all the time or go visit him all the time go out with your friends be busy or unavailable at times have your own life and goals try a new hobby hang out with ur family and friends more often... just do your own thing when he asks you to come over tell him you cant make it this time but mayb next time

It doesn't sound like LOVE to me! Being clingy means that someone or something HANGS ON too much! Being independent means to rely on yourself instead of him, I guess.
As I said, it doesn't sound like Love. To some degree, wifes/husbands, boyfriend/girlfriends, have to b independent somewhat. Think it over. Maybe it's time for some new guy!

Don't take this wrong please, When he says your clingy it means he wants space. Maybe let him rest for a few days. He doesn't want you hanging around him as much. Is he making decisions for you? He wants you to make moves maybe? But in my case I would break up w/ him, if he doesn't want to be around you then he doesn't feel the same way you do. But remember I am not you.

He means he want you to have a life of your own. He doesnt want to be your center of attention all the time because he knows that he wont be like that for you. He wants you to still have friends and hang out with them, maybe not as much as you do, but defientetly hang out with them.
