I'm no expert, but coming from a person... my definition of love is a feeling/emotion. It can be sexual and it also does not have to be. It is a sate of mind. Have you ever just been looking out at the ocean on a calm day and felt totally at peace? It has an effect like that. It is one of the wonders of the world. Did you know that dolphins and people are the only ones on the planet (that experts know of) who have sex for pleasure? (And pigs thave 30min orgasms...unrelated) Love is also a "thing" such as eating or sleep that people yearn/need. (scientist say so anyway)

Love is Pain and Joy at the same time. Love will brighten your day just thinking of that someone special. You will think that the sun is shinning in the rain. You sit with a silly smile on your face just thinking of the time spent with that someone special, but don't let an imaginary doubt creep into the thought pattern, you will feel if the world has ended in a split second. They say that it is a thin line between love and hate, but that is not so, it is just that all your senses are on high alert and something so small as a missed phone call will cause you hurt so deep you want to just crawl up in bed and never come out again. But as soon as that person calls you, all is well and you forget why you were so sad. But that pain was real just a second ago, now it is joy because you are speaking to them and nothing is amiss, Love means you are committed to another and that you will give parts of yourself that before was never considered, you change your standards, morals, ideas, just to compromise and keep the other happy, Love is sharing in all aspect of life. Love is compromising so that each will get something out of a situation. Love is accepting the good with the bad, accepting a person for who and what they are, you have to get to know a person for this. It is not an instant thing ,it grows on you, some people take longer than others. Love is Not trying to change someone into what you want them to be. If you hear your lover laugh it is the lovest sound ever imagined. You will want to be with and share every little detail of a day with someone if you love them,. What is important to one is important to the other. There are different kinds of love such as a love of your child, it runs deeper and for a life time. You accept your child as they are, yet you give unconditional love automaticly to them. There is not a question if this love is real or not. You would die for your child without a thought, without hesitation. With a signifiant other you build up to this stage, you do not start off that committed. But in the end if you stay in love long enough you get to that stage but it is not automatic as with a child. Also there is sibling love for each other, it is not as deep as the parent /child love is, sometimes it is not as deep as mat to mate love is. Friends has another kind of love also, and each kind of relationship has different starting points, each has it's own important aspects, but different reasons for being. Different kinds of love. I hope this gives you some starting point for your paper. I am currently studying also. Good Luck

LOVE is mostly expectations and misguided illusions.
Often love is a feeling we get when another person MAKES us FEEL GOOD. Then because we are creatures who desire to be made to feel good, we continue to search for those moments that give us that high that we experience when someone makes US feel good.
I believe that only God can have and know true love. Us humans can attempt to work at love. And love becomes a choice. It takes two people willing to look beyond the fairytale romantic tale of love and be able to live daily life in honor and affection for each other. Love can be two people in agreement to upbuild each other rather than tare each other down. Love inspires us, it makes us want to be a better person, love gives without expectations. Love also isn't as self sacrificing as some think it should be. If we can't love ourself and take good care of ourself, we can't take care of those we love.
Many people will quote corinthines 13. Which is God love, not human love. We need to try to reach a god-like love but we are just human.
love can last a lifetime or it can be a brief moment. Whatever it is, we all long for it. we hurt because of it/ Most songs written are about some facet of love.
We are creatures who need to give and recieve love.

Love means something different to each person. Some people find food to be an expression of love - like a mother's cooking. Some see it in money. Some see it in a caress. Some see it in hot steamin s3x. Some see love in being paid attention-to. Some see love in nonjudgemental listening. Sometimes love is holding hands. Some see love in the word of God (say Psalms) or in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross dying for our sins. Where there is good natured laughter - love is not too far away. Some see love in a nurse or caregiver who helps them live day to day. Those are my thoughts off the top of my head. Good luck with your project.

In my opinion love is your undying commitment to each other & no one else. In love both people have to give 100% each to make it worthwhile. For instance I work nights & my wife works days. So to make life easier on her I try to make sure most of the housework is done & bills are paid so her night isn't so hectic having to chase after out 2 sons. In a relationship studies say the #1 thing to relax males is sex. Whereas with females the #1 thing is sleep or a massage. In our relationship we cater to each others needs. As long as you maintain the 3 main ingredients in a relationship. Which are communication, a good sex life, & maintaining your finances, then love can flourish. But you must note that if one of these catagories slumps way into the negatives the end result can be catastrophic. Which in turn leads to the loss of love. Mainly love itself is finding someone you can see yourself growing old with & you're certain they love you back this much. In a nutshell love is what you make of it. Good luck in your project.

What is Love-by me
Love is knowing the faults and loving anyway
Love is giving up the last piece of bread
Love is driving 15 hours to be with you on your birthday
Love is kind,love is forgiving
Love is nonjudgmental
Love is going skiing even though I hate the cold
Love is rubbing your feet after a long day
Love is many things to many people.

True love is something for us all to know , true love is always the way to go, true love can't cheat and true love can't con true love can however hold and build a very strong bond. True love will live and will not ever die and sometimes we think true love can even fly .So you see it is from the heart that true love must grow, but when you look into that ones eyes there it will show and then true love you will know. signed born2damromantic

Love is nurturing another as much or more than you nurture youself. We all know how to look out for number 1. It is making someone else the number one. Love is respecting someone and encouraging them to their full potential.

Love is sacrificing without anger/resentment. You're happy to make your loved one happy. It has to be give and take, not one-sided.
