Should USBC/American 10 pin bowling be considered as a "sport" for Olympics? people "bowl" Why no medals?

It was in the 1994 Olympics as an exhibition sport. I think that an American male and a Filipino female won it. I'm surprised that the Olympic Committee does not consider it as a sport. It should be because it's just as competitive as every other singles or team sport.
