What am I doing wrong...it's probably something easy!
It DID work, but after not needing it for a couple of months, I wanted to use it and it wouldn't turn on.

It won't cut on is pretty clear.
The power button will not make the machine come on.
I tried to be sure every plug was plugged in securely.
I unplugged and replugged.
If a printer won't come on, connecting it to the laptop is pointless.
Now can I get an answer?

The first thing I'd do is to check if everything is connected properly. Second, check if you got any warranty from the place were you bought the printer. If there's nothing that can be done with the place where you purchased it, try calling Dell. Unfortunately, as a personal experience, calling Dell means to be helped by some guy in India that will make questions for one hour with a very hard to understand accent (A couple of times I was lucky enough to get transferred to Mexico, they are a lil more helpful than the ones in India).
The other reason why a printer doesn't work after not being used for some months is because you bought cheap ink cartridges. When the printer isn't used for a while, the remaining ink in the printer's head will get dry and actually create an obstruction. Anyways, good luck.

nicely, there is probably no longer a competent thank you to respond to that query. The Dell refurb has been examined and ought to have a guaranty. that ought to be the main secure thank you to bypass. On Ebay it somewhat is a crapshoot. you need to discover an rather stable deal or be caught with a lemon. No thank you to appreciate formerly hand. Plus you in all probability won't get any application discs, which includes a duplicate of the OS, and the pc could be a stolen one in case you purchase it on Ebay.

check the obvious first: is it plugged into a live outlet?
does the fan run?
do any lights light up on the front of the tower?
is the power cord connected in the back of the tower?
are you pressing the correct 'turn on' button?

more info. pls
