**CONTAINS SPOILERS lol!!!** Yeah, I never bought Jo, who is meant to be so lively, being happy with that boring old German professor. I hated it when Amy grabbed Laurie, and it broke me up when Beth died too. But then again it does make the story more interesting - if everyone ended up with the "right" people it would be just too sugary and too much like What Katy Did.

Me, too, but I think Jo was one of the first liberated women in literature. If you saw the version with June Allyson and Peter Lawford, geesh, I'd have married Peter Lawford in a heartbeat!

Yes, it seemed like they would have been perfect together, but as one other person put it, surprises make the story more interesting.
I adored both the Katherine Hepburn version and the Wynona Rider version. I can't decide which is better.
The book tops them all.
