Lust is sexual, physical desire. You can have hot sex with someone you don't even like or care for.
Love is a whole lot more. Love means you care and love that person, you want a relationship with them. Love is deep. Lust is not.

Love is blind.
Love is a mental (some say spiritual) connection between two people. Lust is a physical connection, and a degree of attraction is necessary for a healthy relationship.
On a side note, I'd rather like happily, than love miserably.

Lust is that thing we mistake for love when were speaking of ''love at first site'' basically, lust is fatal attraction, first impression on a semi sexual level, as for love, it is something that developes and strengthens only over time that can exist among relationships between family members, friends, and ofcourse, your significant other :)

Both mean that You want some raw animal sex. Love means you share a meal, sort out some kids, pay some bills, mow the lawn and then do it all again.

When you lust somebody you think they'd be great in the sack, but you wish she was slightly bigger 'here' and wasn't so 'this' and didn't do 'that' so much.
With real love you think they'd be great in the sack, but to you she will always be perfect 'here', and you never do notice she was 'this' and did 'that' too much, because it's these things that make her her.
