First of all, living is one thing, and being a creature is entirely another. Living is what happens when something changes in response to its enviroment. A "live" volcano. A "living" ecological system. This happens to rocks, trees, deer, space ships, and just about anything else. Living is just another way to say entropy. There is a life in everything.

Creature? What is a creature? Something that moves on it's own? Something that thinks, therefore it is? There are cultures that think the "creature" is an alcoholic beverage. I'm not sure what I think a creature is. Maybe some of these others can help you with that.

The terms "Living" and "Creature" do not always go hand in hand. I would define a creature as something that moves of its own volition.

But the term Living applies to anything that goes through the cycle of birth, life, procreation, and death. Therefore, the title Living is given to all plants, plankton, and bacteria as well as animals.

Gives a whole new meaning to "Life is Sacred" doesn't it?
