I been into rap since i was very young. i remember kids laughing at me cause i listened to rap... and that was like in 88. now its on commercials selling cheeseburgers and pepto bismol uses it to appeal to god knows who. do you feel hip hop lost its virginity with the people who obviously dont know its the music of inner city, of the young rebels who wont compromise, to the kid who hears that song as says,"they're just like me"

I do... it used to be a genre of music, now it's a industry, that's what's killing it...

I don't believe that rap was virgin. It sprang out of DUB; which sprang out of R&B; which sprang out of Ragtime and so forth. People listen to rap because they feel it speaks of their problems and that they can relate. They come with the goal to find relief but little do they know that they will get more problems. You become like the one you spend your time with.
Music is a powerful instrument of communication. It is actually a tool which unites the whole world in rebellion against God. I wonder why Buddah, Confucious, Mahomed are not being blasphemed but everyone blasphemes the God of heaven in one voice. The deeper question is who is the master mind that put all this together...

Nope, it allows itself to be used that way.

Rap used to be a really cool form of communication..now it's a joke. It's now the genre of "ganstas" and "thugs."

Rebels don't listen to rap, they do their own thing.

Rap is just another mindless joke

absolutly!
i go to a sporting event and all they play is Rap and hip hop songs. Im like...what the heck!?
Its completely lost its meaning. Its soo sad now.

I forgot about that, not only has its lost its original meaning, but you cant really relate to it anymore. I cant listen to it and be like, yeah, that was me. But then again,
I was never that poor, but I lived in a scary place that made me stay in once it got dark.
but really, I think it started to get messed up in the 90's. the 80's shows its true strength.

Of course, america is all about exploitation - it gets popular and the corporations exploit it. The endless circle of capitalism rears it's ugly head once more.
