Mixing pure O2 gas and pure H2 gas will not result in the production of water.

First, the reaction will require twice as much H2 as O2, given that the reaction is

2H + O --> H2O

Secondly, the reaction is spontaneous, meaning that once the reaction starts, it will continue to completion. However a initiation energy is required to start the reaction.

Us chemists call call this energy an activation energy barrier.

So, to start the reaction, a spark is needed. Once the spark starts the reaction, the reaction will proceed generating heat and water.

This reaction has been performed for high school students for years by filling a balloon with hydrogen gas, then taking a match or spark to the balloon. The result is a loud whoosh, as the balloon is consumed in flame of the hydrogen reducing and the oxygen oxidizing to produce water vapor.

Burn hydrogen, or any compound containing hydrogen, in air or oxygen. Water will be a product, but will initially be hot steam. If you cooled the resultant gases, you would get liquid water.

A 2:1 hydrogen:oxygen gas mixture is dangerously explosive, since so much energy is given out in the formation of water.

Take 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen and put it in a balloon then blow up the balloon with a lighter. There should be a small amount of water.
WARNING DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. FOR YOUR SAFETY.

No, actually it would be one jar of oxygen to two jars of hydrogen H 2 O.

Water is made as a waste product in combustion of oxygen and water. Natural occuring water, I believe either came to the earth on comets and such, or was created by lightning strikes.

If you can mix 2 molecules of hydrogen and 1 molecule of oxygen and you have water - pure water.

I dont think dihydrogenmonoxide can be made, at least not that I know of. It's really easy to take it apart though.

actually we can't make water but you can get it as a product when you burn a hydrocarbon.

eg: C2H6 + 7/2O2 ---> 2CO2 + 3H2O
