The song you are thinking of I believe is True Colors originally by Cyndi Lauper but over the years has been done by quite a few artists because she did not own the song. I am not sure of whose version you have heard but here are some people you have
covered it:
Elaine Page (1991)
Aztec Camera (1993)
Tuesday Child (1997)
Phil Collins (1998)
Leatherface (2000)
David Young (2000)
Sarina Paris (2001)
Eva Cassidy (2003)
Voice Male (2003)
Kasey Chambers (2003)
Anna Tsuchiya (2006)
.The only bad one is the "male voice" maybe an unknown for a commercial or something. I hope this helps!

Outside by Staind, if you like this song you should just get or download the Break the Cycle album, this whole album sounds the same.

Its called: True Colors.
Its a pretty old song but its lovely.
Phil Collins has sung it and so has Cyndi Lauper.
She sung it cause one of her friends died of aids.
Thats soooooooo sad!!!
