My Understanding is that iTunes is Specifically made for iPod!
I've never used anything but iPod!
But I've heard iRiver is an up and coming MP3 Player!

The iPod works with alot of different programs, but iTunes is made specifically and only for the iPod.

However. Some MPIO devices (small, cheap MP3 players, not too bad quality) have plugins for iTunes that can put everything working together. The downside to THAT it hasn't been updating for iTunes 7, as far as I know, and only is available for Apple computers.

I have a Motorola SLVR cell phone and it uses iTunes. The phone holds 100 songs and sounds pretty good, especially using head phones.
