I don't know, but it sure makes them fun...
Often we put too much importance on our dream lives.. The mind is a big playground and when we sleep it has carte Blanche.....

Dreams reveal not only your fears and wishes, but they also reveal how imaginative you are. They can help give you ideas, or just freak you out. I once had a dream where my male cat turned his backside to me and gave birth to puppies, and the father was my male golden retriever. I woke up laughing.
Your dreams can also be affected by your surroundings. If I fall asleep on the couch, and someone changes the channel, I start dreaming about what I`m hearing, but with those twists that happen in dreams, like being able to reverse time and change an ending.
So, yes, dreams are supposed to be freaky, weird, normal, and just down-right dirty. They don`t really mean anything. Now, if your dreams start coming true regularily, then you can freak out a little ;)

dreams are a product of your subconscious. Of course they're supposed to be weird. If you could only see mine! They are 10 times as weird!!!
I assume you mean dairy, not diary. Do you live in a farming area? What about what you were reading/watching right before you went to bed? The part where everyone looks the same sounds like you are very bored with the people around you, that you want variety. That's about all I can get out of it. Oh, and that you probably want a car, or possibly your friend's car?

Yeah, dreams can get crazy.
There are a couple theories as to why we dream. Some people believe that it is all physical, as the body rests the brain is firing its synapses keeping this daily activity happening while we rest. Others think it is a psychological reason, that our minds are working out daily problems and occurences and dealing with complicated emotions that we may not want to deal with during the day.
I think it is probably a combination of the two.
And just to add one of my crazy dreams from my childhood; I almost always dream in color, but this one was in b/w, which made it scarier.
I was asleep in my bed and I woke up to find a grainy 8mm movie projecting on the wall of my bedroom. The image was a close-up of a clown's face and he was staring at me and laughing in a very evil way. I finally got the courage to get out of bed and run to my door, to go to my parents bedroom. But, when I opened the door a monster/demon jumped at me and I woke up.
I had this dream a few times before it stopped. It always scared me screaming!

Dreams may seem weird, but that is because they are a combination of different symbols that each represent something meaningful to you. It is as if your unconscious mind has a certain language that it uses to communicate with you. Dreams may seem like a mixture of random objects and events, but it really just needs to be decoded for you to understand. Dreams have always interested me, and I actually keep a dream journal and try to take part in lucid dreaming (if you are unaware of what that is, you should try looking it up some time). If you are interested in finding out what your dreams mean, there are many books out there in local bookstores about dream symbols and their meanings that you should check out. There are also many websites with dream dictionaries.
Here are a few of those websites:

Dreams are weird. They can be scary or happy too. I have had dreams that scared me so bad I woke up screaming and sweating. I have had dreams so joyous I didn't want to wake up.
I read that if people did not dream you would go crazy.
I just answered a dream question where someone on here that answered had the same dream as I have had. I have this dream off/on all my life. She had the identical dream. HOW weird is that??????

Sometimes they get even weirder... like chase dreams... where you're sliding down a long, long waterslide while killer doll heads are sliding down the slide trying to eat you...
Or like, dreams where you're in a race with a witch on a broom, and no matter how hard you try to run, wind seems to be pushing you back, so the witch is winning...
My favorite though, are the ones where you are in a dream, in a dream, in a dream... your sleeping and you have a bad dream, and you wake up, but you haven't escaped the bad dream, and it follows you to your room... and you wake up again... and again... and again... (It's kind of creepy... cause you really start to wonder if you really woke up in te first place...)
Well, that and sex dreams... but we wont get into that...

Yes. I dreamt that I buried a man in my father's backyard. It was so "Real" that I was bothered by it for a couple of days. The dream was set in my past, about 42 years ago.

That's weird?
The other day I had a dream that swarms of big black ants were attacking Oregon, and Johnny Depp ran into them, so they would swarm on him, and not attack the city...and he was in so much pain that he yelled at me to shoot him...and I did. That's weird.

yes. Dreams are just an extension of our thoughts, fears, memories, emotions, etc.
