Example.. Take the UN sanction against NK. Gosh it was so weak that it wasn't worth the effort. Russia and China Rule OK.

Example.. The British with their imminent change of leadership have already started talking about withdrawing from Iraq.

Example.. Only the criminal government of Israel now openly support Bush.

Reliance on the Nuclear Bomb is not what it used to be, now all the enemies are in possession of their own. NK and Iran.

I care that the U.S. has lost its standing as a leader.

But I think your examples show we still have strong influence in the world. Each example shows that our actions are influencing people around the world to act against us.

You can add to your examples the U.S. Government Agencies that unanimously state that we are creating more terrorists in Iraq rather than solving any terrorist problem.

With your own statement, you are saying the UN has no influence or power.... and, as far as I am concerned, it shouldn't... it shouldn't exist.... it is a leftist organization created to promote socialism and poverty... along with the misery for all that socialism offers... in that, it has been mildly successful at times.... it turned Rhodesia into a communist enclave of poverty.... the UN has failed miserably in its operation... except for corruption... in that, it excels....

If America has lost its influence and its worthiness, WHY are so many trying to come here... legally and illegally? Tell me the answer to that.

Do you really think the USA relies on the A-bombs, neutron bombs, or hydrogen bombs?

We don't, or we would use them..... maybe that would create your idea of influence....

Are you from France? There is a country without any influence on the world, or respect from the world....

There is something basically wrong with your assessment of reality...... do you think the UN sanctions should be harsh so Kim Jong Il can starve even more of his people....

Now, tell me what country has the type of influence you desire.....

What kind of influence is it if you have to be in the bent over position to have the illusion of having influence. Every country ultimately does what is in its own best interest and so they should but also should the USA. And bending over time and time again is not in the USA's best interest. It i time ti instill some fear into the hearts of the opposition.
