Just like Yahoo e mail, Hotmail has both free and paid versions. The paid versions give you some added features as well as additional storage space.

Hotmail is free. To use hotmail with your Outlook Express (POP access) then you would have to pay for an account. POP access used to be free.

Gmail (google mail) is so much better to use. Everything with google is free to use. Gmail is the only free web-based email that doesn't charge for POP access.
