I was wondering if someone could help me out on this one. I stopped taking birth control like a month ago because I missed my doctors apt and I was not able to get anymore birth control until a few weeks after that I have not started taking it yet though you have to wait until the Sunday after you get your period to start taking it I did have unprotected sex but he did not go in side me he pulled out before he went but I thought that maybe you could still get pregnant off of pre *** but anyways I got my period today and I was wondering could I be pregnant and can you get your period when your pregnant? Or am I just worrying about all this and how could you tell if you had a miscarriage? because my period is very heavy and it is really bright red and it has black chunks in it and that dose not usually happen until the end of my period but it is usually dark not red at the end or could it be that my period is acting different because I stopped taking birth control? I don’t know I think I am just worrying myself but if you have and answers for me that would be very helpful. Thanks so much

You're not pregnant if you have your period! The birth control probably just causes your period to be lighter than it would be without the period. The color is fine, the chunks are blood clots-- completely normal! If you feel like you're bleeding through a pad every hour (or a tampon), it's too heavy, and you should go to the Emergency Room, but if it's just heavy, but in a controllable way, and you don't have extreme pelvic pain (way worse than normal cramps), you're fine!
And I wouldn't make it a practice of having unprotected sex, unless of course you are in a long-term monogamous relationship.

It is very possible to have "pseudo periods" after becoming pregnant. Have a test done before you restart the birth control pills as they can harm the fetus if taken after you are pregnant. If you are concerned, definitely see a doctor.

I dont think you are pregnant, just worried! I don't think you would have such a heavy period while being pregnant! Also, if you did have a miscarriage this early, you would not even know it!

My cousin had her periods through her 6th month...Anytime you have unprotected sex you run the risk of pregnancy and yes you COULD very well be pregnant.

Yes you can.. though its more rare. An early pregnancy test is quick and will give you your answer for sure.
