get black plastic table cloths at the party store or the 99cent store tack them to the ceeling around the room this will make it dark...get a couple black light bulbs and put them in lamps remove the shades....get some glo sticks...break them shake them up real good and cut the tops off them and shake them all over the table cloths...when the lights go off it will glo with the black light bulbs...cheep simple and easy...as for food keep it simple put a cooler against one wall with a couple cases inexpensive soda and buy a box of pre packaged chips...cheetoes..lays and fritos..etc..this will ensure that what is not eaten will not be wasted...get a couple bowls and pop some popcorn and toss some m ms inside this will ensure easy clean up...hang a few twisted streamers accross(orange and white) 2 rolls should do the room and hang some down the entry way to the door like fringe...ask friends to bring cds. and set a boombox on the table...keep it simple as the kids will be mostly talking and be on the cell phones and dancing...middle school kids are a blast sit back and enjoy by ...the way less is best and keep it simple they wont remember the decorations or the food it will be the music and dancing and the game... truth or dare that they will remember...if a sleep over a big box of donuts and juice boxes for breakfast..and a easy clean up just get a trash bag and toss away everything...you could also put up some wall decorations but one thing thats really cool is to take a pair of jeans and shirt and stuff it with towels or a blanket and set a plate on the head and put one of those plug in pumpkin heads on it or carve one and put a flashlight in it...if you go to the local $1 store you will have enough ...we do this all the time and my girls loved it they just change it up for different occasions and i reuse the plastic oblong table cloths...my youngest just graduated this last year and I will miss this halloween this year ...remember less is best....have a spoooooky time

A bag of apples and a bag of tealights (the ones with the metal base) won't cost much. Use a melon baller to dip out the core end of the apple enough so the tealight candle can be placed in it securely. The dollar store will have paper decorations and crepe paper to hang. Black and/or brown pipe cleaners can be twisted to look like spiders.

I agree with the dollar store and the black lights. But that age would love a strobe light. Around $9 bucks at walmart. If you get cheap decorations then this will pull it all together.

Black lightbulbs, cover a wall or two in paper, buy some glow in the dark markers etc and let them decorate it :) *toss in some orange and black streamers, and make a red punch - find a non-powdered latex glove and fill it with water and freeze - instant creepy ice cube!

I really like the blue and white theme. You can do a little shabby chic. Save money by buying material to cover some throw pillows. Go to second hand store and get a very cool retro lamp
