Saturday Night Live is nowhere near as funny or popular as it was even 10 years ago! I don't know why they are showing reruns already, but when they do, they should use the shows from 15 or 20 years ago. At least they would hold the interest of the oldtime fans and maybe get a new following from the younger generations (they don't know what they are missing!)

Product of the success of the 'non-live' segments (i.e - TV FunHouse, Diginal Shorts). It provides the writers the escape the confinement of live sketch comedy. Look at last season, some of the best sketches came from the Digital Shorts segments, like 'Doppleganger' and web sensation 'Lazy Sunday'.
I do agree with everyone that SNL at the moment is 'weak' right now. But SNL has always gone through peaks and valleys. We're just still in the post-Ferrell funk right now. I do hold hope for this cast. They've got a identity and voice that they're just on the cusp of discovering. Hopefully sooner then later, so we can get some hilarity.

well they are all live the first time the air... but they tape the live shows so if they feel lazy and don't wanna do the show one week they can say "hey its a live taping" so we cant sue them... that and its just not as funny as it use to be so they might have problems trying to make it better...

because saturday night live isnt as humorous as it use to be, watch "mad tv" its more updated and hilarious
