Cingular has the Nation's largest all digital voice and data network. The technology they use is GSM which is the same technology that over 70% of the world uses. Cingular is in a spending war with Verizon and it's all about the network. Finally, Cingular offers ROLLOVER which allows you to keep the minutes you don't use.... it's the fairest deal in wireless. I say give Cingular a try and if you don't like 'em, you have 30 days to return the phone and let out of your contract.

Verizon wireless because they have the best coverage by far. They are a little more pricy, but for reliability they are the best. Trust me I had them first and tried the other guys and in the end I went back to them. I can tell you that they all have their good and bad however.

My second choice would be cingular because they too have good digital coverage. I was in the woods in the middle of nowhere and my freind that had them was the only one that could get a signal.

The most important thing would be to look for a company where you get great reception. I don't know where you live but usually all cell phone companies have a trial period where you can see if you get good reception. Another thing to look at would be what type a deal. I would say you get the most for your money with T-Mobile. If you get great reception with T-Mobile then you are all set.

I think Verizon is one of the largest companies and probably has the most cellular towers, therefore, in general, the best coverage. Most of all of my friends after using some other company have switched to Verizon.

Plus - if you get all your friends to get Verizon, or if they happen to have it already, you can talk to them completely free without using up any minutes.

I have Cellular One right now and their coverage up here (northern Minnesota) really sucks. One of my friends has Verizon and his coverage is much better. Next year I'm going to switch to Verizon as well (I also found out we also have an employee discount program with them).
