depends on your system. With most systems you put your windows disc into the drive, restart, hit the f12, and put the source as ur D: then follow the instructions....man what a pain in the rear (easy...but time consuming chore of putting everything else back on your computer).

It depends on what you mean by computer crash. Usually you turn it off, then back on, and windows will reboot. You don't need to reinstall Windows unless the Operating system has been corrupted and won't start up. If you need to reinstall windows you just start the computer with the Windows xp disc in the drive, and it will boot up into the install program and guide you through it.

Before doing anything else boot up your XP disk and get yourself into the recovery console. Log into as administrator this should put you into the recovery console dos prompt. Run the chkdsk /r to repair the disk. This will do a sector repair in 98% of the disk problems which may cause the bluescreen crashes aside from drivers.

If you are the original owner, your computer should come with a reinstallatin disk. Do a yahoo search on windows reinstallation. You ought to find some instructions. That's how I learned how to do the re-installations myself on my laptop.

startup your computer and insert your windows xp cd. Boot from your cd, when it says...press any key to boot from cd... push any key. it will take about 3-4 minuntes (depending on your processor speed) to load up. You can install a fresh copy, or you can repair a copy. It's up to you. Also, I would recommend partitioning the hard drive so you get the most use out of your hard drive(s). Hope you have luck with this!! :-)

Insert the WinXP CD. If you don't have one, you're screwed.
If it's still working at the moment: add an 2nd harddisk, find a ghost.exe somewhere, and backup the first harddisk to the 2nd one now and then.

I am assumoing you do not have a system restore disk. Either you buy it, or illegally borrow someone elses to reload.

depends...did you get a recovery disk when you purchased your computer? if so, use it.
if you didn't that means you were SUPPOSED to make your own...if you didn't you have to pay for one from the manufacturer...about $10
good luck
