I hate to tell you this, but some kind of device is needed that produces sound at an early time that will jab into your subconcious and yank you out of sleep...
An alarm clock is helpful, but really, it's all in your head. When the alarm clock does go off, don't hit the snooze button and say, "Five more minutes..." Set a goal to get out of bed as soon as it goes off. Walk around and turn on lots of lights. Drink a large glass of cold water first thing. Movement, light, and the cold water will help your body awaken faster and are actually good for you. Instead of thinking of the sleep you're missing, think of all of the extra time in the day you're gaining. A positive attitude helps out alot.

Actually I saw a very interesting medical program referring to waking children up early in the mornings.....they suggested it would work for adults, too.
It sounds stupid, but they say to use a blue light in your bedroom as opposed to a regular light bulb. They say the blue light is more subtle and does not jolt the eyes and brain awake like a regular light does first thing in the morning. They say it has been clinically proven that it is easier to create a routine of healthy sleep and more pleasant and energized awakening in the morning time. Couldn't hurt to give it a shot? =) Good luck!

go to bed earlier...set your alarm clock across the room so you have to get out of bed to get it...wake up with a goal in mind that you just need to do in the first 5 minutes u are awake.
Also...it takes 4 weeks to develop a habit, so just keep doing it and eventually u will get it.

Usually with the assistance of sleeping pills. I never get to bed early, so the need for me to be up in the morning has to be an important one. That importance usually prevents me from over-sleeping. Otherwise, forget it. My inner alarm clock is on snooze and no outer noise can rouse me.

Well whether or not I've gone to bed earlier or later, my body wakes itself up about six thirty seven am every day. Perhaps it's my bladder that awakens first but I wake up without an alarm clock every morning like that.

Well, there are some people I know that (if you have a t.v. in your room) can set the T.V. so that it goes off in the morning. Or you can plan something for yourself even if it's small so that you have something to wake up for. Eventually, it should be automatic to your brain that it has a certain time to wake up.
Good Luck!!

1. Make enough time so that you can take a hot shower in the morning. It gives you a comfort zone to look forward to.
2. Get a really good breakfast cereal- Captain Crunch or something of a treat- pop tarts, maybe? Another something to get you out of bed.
3. Set your clock radio to something obnoxious (country music, talk radio, rap music, whatever you dislike), set it loud, and set it out of reach of your bed.

there r so many things that can wake u up, but to force yourself to wake up....If u keep in your mind that you wanna do something in the AM event, then ur body can work with u and keep ur brain function and make ur brain to remind u that u have something to do...........
