Place the following code wherever you want the link to appear

Change var url & var title to the URL and Title of your website.

Change "X" in Make X your home page, to the name of your website.

AND ONE MORE THING.. Do you see the second line of document.write?

There is something written as - ernal.AddFavor... url, title

Replace this with

ernal.AddFavorite(url,title)

Make sure you don't mess around with the quotes and semi-colon next to the text I've asked you to replace.

For some reason the original text which I'd typed down doesn't seem to appear here properly..

If you have any other problem, please free to contact me.

It's actually not a link. I think that the websites do it via some Java code but I haven't checked out how it's done. To see how they do it, you could go to a website that does it, and use your browser to view the source. You should be able to see the code that makes the change.

In the browser though, you could go to Toosl, Internet Options and you can set any web site as your home page.

Update:

I just went to the Verizon Yahoo home page and found the code that they use to accomplish this, and it is indeed Java. Here is the code:

Hope this helps.

One last edit...
For some reason, Yahoo Answers is clipping sections out of the text, perhaps because the lines are too long, and I haven't been able to change that. The best that I can offer is to look for your self for a similar section of code in one of the sites that you mentioned, and use that. Sorry it can't be clearer...

you can choose which website and or page of a website to use as your home page anytime you want to, what you do is go to TOOLS it is in the upper left corner (example: it shows like this File Edit View Favorites TOOLS Help) click on tools and then select Internet Options after the Internet options window opens select GENERAL (example: it shows like this GENERAL security privacy content connections programs advanced) unless it is selected already, from GENERAL there is a section of window that says HOME PAGE click on the option that says USE CURRENT and when you do this it will use whatever website and or website page that you have open on your Internet so if you want YAHOO ANSWERS to be your home page then VISIT THAT PAGE AND THEN FOLLOW ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS I HAVE GIVEN YOU p.s. i hope i helped

If you're using Internet Explorer, just go into Tools->Internet Options->General. The first section allows you to specify your home page; there's a "Use Current" 'button that will make whatever page you're on at the time your home page.
