Personally, my family has roots in German, English, Irish and Sweedish ancestry, but I find that I identify most with my German roots. I think it has to do with spending so much time with my great grandma who was full-blood German when I was a kid.

Seriously...I am all American! This means that the European part of my family have been in this part of the world for nearly 400 years. I am about 1/2 French, 1/4 American Indian, 1/8 Scots, and the last 1/8 is various other European countries.

It pleases me to "be" French. (I am more than a bit...mischievous.) On Tartan Day, Reformation Day, and St. Patrick's Day I proudly wear my clan's tartan.

This said, I was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, when asked about my "ethnicity" by a stranger, I usually claim Northern Californian. Certainly formed more of my world view than my bloodline. ; )

I'm an American mutt, who's family on mom's side is mainly Scottish, but damn if we can trace it back any further than 3 generations (small closeminded farming community) My dad was half german and have "claimed" english, although the stories say the family was scottish but lost everything when supporting the wrong Mary in the Scottish English wars.

I personally can not claim anything outside of the American 80's ethnic groups since my family is one big inbred mutt, straight tree syndrome, so punk it is!

Does Misfits Fiend count as an ethnic group?

I'm Greek mostly and I identify with that part of my ancestry most. Second would be Native American (Cherokee). I have no idea how much NA blood I have... it's in both my g-ma and g-pa's ancestry. I also have Scotch and English in my heritage and who knows what else.

Ditto; I have Irish, Scottish, German, Dutch, Mexican, and Italian roots but I mostly identify with my German roots because my last name is German.

I also closely identify with my Mexican heritage because I'm 25% Mexican.

I'm full Chinese but then you have the question of national identity. I grew up in a neighborhood full of Irish Catholics and went to Eastern Orthodox school.... kinda confusing.

I have Chinese, French and African ancestry. However, I was born in Peru and lived there most of my life, so I identify myself mostly as a Latin American.
