Yes, they are.
Apart from the value to the ruling class, what value does following celebrity doings have?
I was thinking they could teach us that, despite the illusory reality they portray as their jobs, their real lives teach us that life is actually a mix of good and bad.
In trying to ponder this question, I end up not wanting anyone to split up. Even Katie and Tom, cause now there's that darn kid. Although I did wonder if Anna Nicole and her lawyer married to avoid having to testify against one another.

Tom Cruise and Katie - He is too crazy and she is a love-struck fan not facing reality
Britney Spears and husband - She is immature and irresponsible with her baby.
