I love to watch plumbers when they go off half caulked. It's like witnessing a crack in the system. How could they bend over the rules of plumbing with grout realizing they are leaving the job half done. According to Tile 3 of the Plumbing handbook: Toilet a job go half caulked would be like flushing business down the drain.

This is why I find it strange that more plumbers haven't piped in with their own opinions here. They must not want to throw a wrench into the system. Regardless, all plumbers should take a valve to hold their own caulk. Never make another crack-er jack plumber do it for you.

It's when they go half caulked, your pipes are always sure to spring a leak.
So beware of half-caulked plumbers. Make sure you get the full caulked ones only. Make sure they also bring the Teflon tape.....lol

Not anymore! They don't use caulked stuff anymore. They do however go off half taped!

My plumber is a great guy. Sometimes he brings his 14 year old son along as his helper. I like that. The plumber wears a very tight belt. :-) I think his wife dresses him!
