Your supervisor has NO Right to your records unless they are one of your Direct Care Givers, (nurse, doctor). This is strongly protected under the HIPPA law. I cant think of any reason that a judge would grant them this information, even in the case of say, insurance fraud, then it would be HR and lawyers doing their thing, but they still would not be able to share the information with your boss. Even if your medical records are kept with HR, all your supervisor is allowed to know is that if you are eligle for employement or not, nothing else.

No, only if your supervisor has them subpeoned, with a court order signed by a judge. Your supervisor had better have a really good, relevant reason, too, or they will not be able to obtain them.
Medical records are pretty well protected. So well so, that sometimes it is even hard for you to obtain your own!
So, don't worry that anyone will get your medical records, unless you know that they have a very good reason, and one that you can do nothing about.

No one other than your physician should view your records without a warrant signed by a judge. Their is a Privacy Act that should have been signed by you at the time the file began. If you didn't sign one I would advice you to ask your doctor about it. Spouses aren't even allowed to view each other records, what makes the supervisor that he/she can.

A supervisor can't get your medical records from your doctor or hospital without a subpoena, but if you medical records are part of your personnel file through your HR department, your boss can see them.

No, your supervisor does not have the right to view this info without your permisson. You are protected by HIPAA (an act that protects you and your medical info) you, your medical POA, and medical professionals are the only ones legally alowed to see this information.
