with increasing medical technology, and cesarian section technique, vaginal birth after c section delivery is becoming more common. most doctors will still tell you that it is not recomended because the original was done with surgery, the same problem might happen again, and thus making it more of a risk for both mother and child.

I have had a VBAC. I had a c-section with my first child and then
gave birth to my son via vaginal delivery. Big Mistake! Only because I gave birth to a 12 pound little boy! Boy was I in pain. Next one will be delivered c-section! The practice of VBAC is becoming more uncommon recently!

It is actually becoming very difficult to find a doctor who will allow this. I had a C-section with # 1 cause he was breech, but #2 and # 3 were both vaginal, and I even got pitocin with #2 ( a big no no now), but # 3 was the best - a peaceful water birth. #4 was another C because "the rules had changed and we no longer allow VBACs" I thought this was really wierd since I had already done it twice, but insurance companies seem to dictate how doctors now practice medicine.
