How about; The effects of information overload in the work place as a result of all the cool technologies we have nowadays...
office phone, mobile phone, voice mail, regular mail, email, instant messenger, fax's, memos, fedex's... All of the things that buzz around you all day long while you are trying to get work done. All this technology makes it easier to access information but it makes me wonder how hard it has become to get real focus time in without the constant interruptions.

I was just informed there is a new study that has prooven that Children whom are exposed to long periods of video game/pc use have shown actual physical changes in the brain that affect their behavior, learning, etc... Maybe searching the net on this topic will give you some great info to use. I know I was completly unaware that exposure to these things were physically harmful..in fact it makes me wonder if adults also suffer physical changes for extended computer exposure. Im sure the internet has plenty of info on studies such as this..people may be interested to find what the new technology actually does to our being. Good luck.

you should try to do a speech that your audience an relate too and are familiar with, but something they don't know too much about. you want it to be interesting and let them learn something new. for my high school speech class i do my informative speech on the ouija board. it was something everyone has heard and maybe played it , but no one really knew where it came from and its werid history.
other topics i suggest:
-the history of the toliet (we take it for granted! and with this topic you can add a lot of humor to)
-a food/candy everyone knows about and give the history, how its made and stats on it (a crowd pleaser if you bring samples)
-how silly putty came around and what it is made up of and its great uses
i dont know if this will help you. depends if you want something interesting in a funny way or an intellectual way.

I think everyone's main interest is the self. If you write a paper about personality types, it can trigger an interest for your reader or audience. Or you can write about some common psychological disorders such as depression.
Topics such as Gun Control, Drunk Driving, Drug Legalization, Abortion, and Eating disorders are overdone and too persuasive.
Overall, write something that you and your reader are interested in.

Yes, how about researching abuse. You can focus on relationships in your age group and that would be very helpful to others. I think you will be surprised how it is growing and that needs to stop.
