I have an 'artsy' project in my careers in education class and it is to paint an 'arts and crafts' container to where the outside represents teaching (E.I. - pens, pencils, books, alphabet, ECT.) and I got that part done, I just need help on what to put inside the box that resembles a teacher's heart...

Something that shows patience, maybe like a clock or watch, I solute all the teachers of America!

I like the clock idea because a teacher's career revolves around time. Like the above person said, it represents patience. It also can represent the limited time we have with our students to teach them. It also represents how teachers need to be on their toes, constantly monitoring how much something is taking...will the students be done in time for the next activity?, is there enough time to go over it again, is there enough time to reteach? The clock can also represent all the overtime teachers put in. Many teachers take work home or stay in school way beyond contract time.

I remember people using a watering can when I was in education classes. It represents the nurturing aspect of teaching, which is the essence of our hearts.

I would suggest a light bulb. A light bulb glows with warmth, it lights the way, it brings encouragement to those in darkness, it has varying degrees of brightness to fit different situations, but it is fragile and has the ability to burn out. Just an idea.
