I am only 19 years old, but ever since I lost a brother when I was eleven then lost my grandmother three months and two days later I have always taken a moment out of each day to recollect and think back. People do take life for granted and it is a precious thing. I for one thank god every day for my life and I always tell my loved ones and family memebers that I love them every chance I get because you never know when they will be taken away from you. As an example my mom passed away August 25th, 2006 back in june her and my father split up it was her descision I was mad at her and didn't talk to her for three weeks well it got to me not being around my mother and not having her because my aunt would not allow me to call her on the phone. There was a festival going on in my town I went to it and found out from my cousin that my mother was there I walked up and down that festival for two hours looking for my mother. Finally I had found her I ran into her arms cried my eyes out told her how much I loved her and how sorry I was. On August 3, which was my 19th birthday I moved back in with my mother and her boyfriend and everyday I am thankful for those last three weeks I got to spend with her before she died and I am thankful that we got that mother daughter bond back. I am also grateful that my last words to my mother before she passed was I love you to. Everyday I think back to they day before her passing and I am grateful that that day we got along great. Even though it would be better if she were still here I am still greatful for the time I did get with her and the memories I have of her because our loved ones can be taken from us but the one thing that can't never be taken from us and that is our memories. I try to stress to ever how important it is to not take life for granted but most people say your only 19 what do you know but I have experienced a great deal in my lifetime and grew up a lot faster then most people do. I do know a lot and I am most grateful to the person who posted this as a question because you are so right people do take life for granted before it's to late and it's time that they wake up and start treasuring life and the things they have even if there life isn't the best because that's not the thing that matters the thing that matters is that we are alive and healthy.

That realization hit me when I could no longer carry my oldest child. It's sad but true. They grow up way too fast. I try to think back on my childhood and I hardly remember my parents telling me they love me at all. I make sure I tell mine MANY times a day. Sometimes they get sick of it but I don't want them to ever forget. Not only do they grow up so fast but you never know when it's going to be your time to go - if I die in a car wreck I want my kids to remember that I love them.

Kids are great... Gods greatest blessing to us. After all Gods greatest gift to all mankind was His son, in the form of a child. Never take your little girl for granted, because in the blink of an eye she will be grown and gone. Spend as much time with her now as you can, the older they get the less time they want to be with you. I have 3 kids, and every day I will call their names.. and they say.. I know mom..you love me..I say how do you know..they say because you say it all the time. I dont want them ever to doubt that I love them, I say it so they will know it. I say it so much they get tired of hearing it, but they cant grow up and ever say to any one...my mom never told me she loves me.

Unfortunately, people do not think about things like that until it is too late. There are lots of kids here who are too immature to understand about life. They think they will live forever and nothing can happen to them so they take dangerous risks and don't appreciate their families. Sad.
