All this time I though I was a Cancer.

Remember some planets were not known but astrology changed when they were discovered.
Perfection is a man made concept. Having 12 more or less equal zones assumes all the constellations take the same amount of space in the sky. They don't.

This shows where the Sun is in the zodiac if you consider the Earth to be the center point for your horoscope. This is also why some planets retrograde (move backwards due to different orbits around the sun) from our view on earth.

I suggest that, if you're not sure what you're talking about, then don't make sweeping or controversial statements.

That site talks about the SIDEREAL zodiac, where the entire zodiac is situated about 23.5 degrees backwards. Why? Precession of the equinoxes. The site explains this astronomical phenomenon very clearly.

The sidereal zodiac is the one seen from earth in relation to the constellations. There is an extra 13th constellation between Scorpio and Sagittarius. Because the constellations are of unequal width, the sidereal signs are of unequal periods. Another point to note is that the constellations were named by mankind way back, so we could have had any number of them in the zodiac belt.

If you follow the Astrology of the sidreal zodiac, all the signs and planets in your chart will be shifted back 23.5 degrees. Vedic or Hindu Astrology still follows the sidereal zodiac to this day.

If you prefer to follow the sidereal horoscope, then get a Vedic chart done. There are plenty of free Vedic chart services on the Internet. In fact, even www.astro.com, which is a site for Western Astrology, can also print out your sidereal natal chart if you desire one.

Western Astrology, the one we're familiar with, follows the TROPICAL zodiac. It is based on the position of the Sun and the seasons of the year.

Both systems of Astrology developed over thousands of years through empirical evidence, i.e. through observation of effects occuring during all the different planetary configurations.

If you do a Vedic chart reading, you will be following that system's body of knowledge. The same goes for a Western Astrology chart; it will be interpreted according to its own system. Both systems have worked for millennia and still work well today. But you need to stick to one or the other, and not get your analyses mixed up.

If you're really worried about your sign, perhaps you could say "I'm a tropical Cancer, and a sidereal Gemini."

My rising sign is Capricorn- sextile my venus/pluto in Scorpio, conjunct my neptune in Capricorn, trine my moon in Gemini with saturn in Aquarius in the first house. Capricorn and saturn are associated with skin and bones. I have dry skin, but a great complextion. I have naturally strong, straight, well shaped, white teeth. I have never broken a bone or suffered an acne attack. I'm 5'7" and weigh enough to make me obese, but I have never been called "fat" by anyone. Capricorn rising has endowed me with being slender and well porportioned. I think the venus/pluto conjunction that sextiles my rising makes me look busty and big-hipped. I am often told that I have bedroom eyes, that they're very dark and steel-like, or that I look like I'm never there (dreamy neptune does this to me). Many of the people that I meet and befriend tell me that I'm intimidating. I tend to stare into people, rather than at people and I like to cross the line to see where the limits lie. I have both bold Scorpio and inquisitive Gemini to thank for my frequent inquisitions. When I start working on something, I won't stop until it's done. I've been called OCD because I tend to be a control freak and can't stand it when something is not done a certain way. I usually get my way and have a hard time accepting when I don't. If I'm really set on getting what I want, I work for it or manipulate the hell out of the people I need to get it. Needless to say, I keep few and very loyal friends. I'm very independant and enjoy being alone. I think the rising sign, it's aspects, and the planets in signs that aspect it influence both the personality and the physical self.

According to that, I'm Sagittarius and my son is Ophichus.
But I don't undertand why every star sign would have over 20, average of 30 days, except for Scorpio which according to that list is only 6 days long.

I find this most curious, I am a Virgo and it would place me as a Leo..... there are so many theories, and this is not one i would adhere to . I already have 3 planets in Leo, quite enough....I always fall back on my Virgo Sun Sign and that is fine with me.....I claim no pretense here...communicating is my 'thing' or that which i am driven to do. I will leave it here, tho thanks for the input.

Your chart says im a libra, but I am a scorpio and every horoscop describes my scorpion personality. My b/f is a libra and he acts like one... I dont understand your chat when everything that my horoscope says describes me... Thats why I go by Chinese horoscope its by the year not moon.....
