I think there was a woman who coached a men's team for a few games. I believe it was at TN Tech. She was the AD and her coach got fired or quit in mid-season, so she coached the team for a few games before handing the team over to an assistant. It's been a few years back.
On a side note, if anyone has ever seen Pat Summitt in action knows that she could coach men no problem. She has a great basketball mind and is a very tough coach. I think she would get respect from the men very quickly.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T or lack of. Coaching has too often and too long been considered a man's profession. When women got on board it opened up the door but not wide enough for women to be accepted as a coach of a men's team, however I have seen a woman assistant coach on the high school level in my hood. There's also this stigma that the men athletes would try to bone a woman's coach but most female athletes are gay so a man coach couldn't get any play anyway. I'm not making it up, I'm just saying what's being said.

It's the same thing as a woman becoming president. Can they? Yes. Should they? Maybe. There is a sick amount of politics involved in college athletics especially something as high profile as basketball. I could see something like that happening with a small program is a more liberal part of the country. I don't think a woman would enjoy the position being a woman though.

Yes, but no. I mean they can, but I don't think the personalities of the male basketball players would respond too well to it. If you've ever seen the coach to player relationship, or what coaches say to fire up a team, I'm not sure it would work with a femae.

Yes its possible they have also the NBA if they have the right stuff and the abilities to coach then of course. It should be egalitarian to do so sex and gender should not matter who coaches who.
