It started a few nights ago and it's really starting to bug me to the point where I can't sleep. I kept feeling like there was something stuck in my throat. At first I thought it was a pill that hadn't gone down all the way, and figured it would eventually jsut go down, but it never did.
Tonight it was really bugging me and making me feel like I should gag. I felt the back of my throat and realized it's actually a attatched to me and not even a peice of food or pill at all. It feels almost as if a paice of a tonsil or something of that line. Anyway, it is really bugging me. Has anyone ever had the problem?

I need to point out that I don't have tonsils.. I had those taken out a few years ago, and I know they can grow back, but whatever this is, is in the back center of my throat so it can't be my tonsils growing back.

Sonds a lot like globus sensation.
Take a look at this website health forums:
http://www.medhelp.org/forums/gastro/messages/35943.html
Some one there asked a question just like yours, and it got a lot of response. Take a look at that website and you may have what they have described.
Here is another site that may help you out:
http://www.doctorhoffman.com/xglobus.htm
If it countiues you should go to your doctor and they have all sorts of tools that can look into your throat to see what it may be.
- Hope this helps :-)
- Good luck

I'm guessing it is a tonsillolith. Basically a compact bunch of gunk that forms in the crypts of your throat. I had infalmed tonsils often and for this factor along with others had them removed as an adult. Allergy conditions caused the problem to be worse than typical.
You added you don't have tonsils but depending on if you have spots for the accumulation of matter you can still get these. It would all depend on the physical makeup of your throat and surrounding tissues. Depending on how your surgery site healed could also allow these to form.
If you are still concerned and want to make sure you are okay see an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) doctor about it. Your typical family practice doctor may not be aware of these.

First of all when you receive this message I would be in the ER as quick as I could. Have you been to the Dr. for this condition before?. I would not think it was a "hyneria hernia" unless you had an estending pocket 3/4 ways down your esophagus. I have seen hernia's that are near the stomach and and a hernia could develope before your food gets into your stomach, and some food could enter the off set hernia which could cause that feeling that you have about swallowing. That food that is trapped will not get out. Like I said ER in the afternoon Sunday..

If you have been feeling ill lately or having a sore throat , it could be you are coming down with something., but if it feels like something is stuck in your throat, try eating bread, and drink liquids to help push it down! If this fails to work, you might want to have your doc. check it out. . Good Luck!!

I used to get these hard little balls stuck in my throat. Wow that didnt sound right. Really hard round objects that I would have to cough up once in a while. I guess it was food. I made the kkkckckkckckckc noise until it came up.
