You can be pregnant and stylish. But would you normally wear clothes that are 2 sizes too small.

I feel that god made us to do the childbaring, and some smart human designed maternity clothes for a reason. There is no reason to hide your belly, But however, there is reason to wear the right fitting clothes, and not to tight or to small of clothing. After all if you wear to tight of clothing, you could be making the baby uncomfortable, and in the long run, you uncomfortable. So cherish every moment, and wear the clothes that were designed to show us off!!

depends. On shirts..deffinately hide the stomach. I think personally it looks a little trashy with the belly hanging out. Some pants are made to fit below the belly....But then again, I was at the pool 8 months pregnant in the middle of summer with a 2 peice on...but I did have a tank top on. So it all depends on your individuality.

I'm glad you asked this question; it's something that's been buggin' me.
I live by the beach in Santa Monica, CA and when I have coffee in a local cafe I see mothers and mothers-to-be walking by. Some pre-moms are wearing clothing that not only does not hide their very pregnant figures, some are wearing clothing that actually shows their bellies off! Tights and smallish tops with beautifully swelling abdomens.
Some are absolutely shocked by this 'abomination'! What I love about it is that it is so natural, comfortable and loverly!
Why don't more pregnant woman dress like this? Why are some 'ashamed' of the life developing inside of them, practically wearing bhurkas to hide them? How did WE get here? Why are some ignorant members of society trying to hide something that couldn't be more natural? And skarew those that think otherewise!

I think the pregnant body is beautiful, but I find it unattractive when they let everything hang out. This includes non-pregnant ladies. A little skin is OK, but when you have a gut, the world does NOT need to see it. The same goes for skinny girls too.
I think pregnant women look best in tight fitted tops and pants. Just don't parade yourself around in stuff that would fit your 11 year old neighbor.

Why should they hide their bellies...its a beautiful thing being pregnant so wear what is comfortable. Just because you are pregnant does not mean that you have to dress like an old woman

To each their own! In summer of my pregnacies I was so hot i didnt give a hoot who likes me trapsing around in my swim suit or whatever. The important parts were covered lol! In winter, I had more clothes on then an entire army patrol! Pregante women tend to get hot and cold real easy. So long as nothings showing that shouldnt be, let em wear what they want.

there are so many beautiful and flattering outfit choices for pregnant ladies now days that we neither need to wear tiny clothes that don't fit or cover it all up in unflattering floral dresses and sailor suites (like our moms did) or big old baggy sweat tops and pants. We can still look fashionable and sexy and stylish now that we have classy boutiques and even large chain stores catering to our needs so I disagree with both of your options and I choose a third. We even have rocker print t-shirts and designer jeans designed with us in mind, along with maternity work clothes and evening gowns, being pregnant has never looked so sexy!!!!

When I was pregnant with my 2 kids, the tight fitting clothes with the belly hanging out was unheard of. I see that so much today and I think it looks tacky. A mother-to-be should dress with a little more class.

I guess it depends on the mother. I think that there is a point when it just looks like you cant afford maternity clothes, but otherwise I think it depends on the modesty level of the mother.
