I saw it before The Departed came onto the screen (which btw, is excellent.) And 300 looks like it is going to be REALLY INTERESTING. I already love how the shot it. It looks very dramatic. I'm not sure about the story since I haven't read Frank Miller's graphic novel, but I'm very interested in getting it. Has anyone read it? And what are your thoughts on the trailer?

And for all those who don't know, it's a film starring Gerard Butler and it's about the Spartans.

I now just saw the teaser trailer. Looks interesting. Not what I pictured 5th century B.C. Sparta and Persia looking like though. I understand its based on Frank Miller's graphic novel which explains 300's approach. I haven't read the novel, but I had been watching the video journals and definitely was interested in the movie. Hopefully it won't flounder like "Alexander."

I saw it. It's on the apple trailers page and in youtube I think.
No I haven't read the novel.
I think the the trailer looks nice. I think the movie is gonna look nice too, but I'm worried it's gonna suck. The last good 'epic' film was Troy, and that was a while ago.

Trailer is available online - see reference. Frank Miller, imho, is a hack who doesn't care what mythos he destroys as long as enough controversy is created to sell more of his 'work'. Many of the scenes in the trailer seem contrived for the sake of controversy. The director, Zack Snyder, has previously done "Dawn of the Dead", a related direct-to-video film and a direct-to-video Michael Jordan moneygrabber.
