Technically, either one is OK. But the first is better. That last comma just isn't needed. It's a cleaner, easier read without it.

I went to the store and bought pop, cake, pizza and pie.
No need to put a comma before the word "and".

the second one. there needs to be a comma before the and when you are listing items. To make a conjunction, which is what happens without the comma, the sentence needs to have to separate thoughts. For example: If you said I went to the store and I bought some bananas. I went to the store is one sentence and I bought some bananas is another. The and is there to make a conjunction and connect the sentences. In your example pie is not a sentence all on its own and needs to have a comma and the word and before it.
I found this site for you that explains a little about your question

The second sentence is correct.
The comma just keeps us from having to say and use the word and so much. If we didn't have the comma our sentences would sound redundant....who wants to say "I went to the store and bought pop and pizza and pie? "
You wouldn't place a comma in front of the ands in that sentence, so why should you want to in front of the second sentence in your question?

both are correct...however, the second statement is more so because it distinguishes between the items. unlike 'pizza and pie' which without a comma can signify a relationship....but obviously in this case, there is none.
