ok 6 years ago I "stole" my bestfriends boyfriend. Him and I fell in love and he left her for me but she says i stole him. Him and I have been married now 5 years and we have three kids....anyway her and I remained friends even after all this drama ....She tells me she has gotten past the hurt and the pain of it all but every time she gets a new friend that friend will hate me for what i did to her and they only know of it because she has told them ......So how can i help her get over it. It has been 6 years i think it has been long enough. Don't You?

Six years is a long time and she should have gotten over it by now.

Apparently by how and what she's telling her friends is giving them a negative view of you, thus showing she must not be over this. Have you tried talking this out with her? Tell her how this makes you feel and be very open with her. Openess is the key. She may not realize just how bad this affects you.

If you have and that's not working then you , and I hate to say this, need to walk away. You have a family and you're happy. If she is intent on staying in this type of drama and "poor me" mood then you have the obligation, for the sake of your kids and your husband, who don't ned this drama, to let go of her. She doesn't sound like the best of a friend anyway.

Good luck. I hope this helped even a little. Things like this are never nice.

You have to tell her to stop mentioning this to her new friends. You have to have her understand that if she has gotten past the hurt and pain of it all, then it is not necessary to share this information with others. Tell her how you feel when her new friends act the way they do around you. If she really considers you a friend, she wouldn't act this way!
