What good topics do you think I can include to write about "Singlehood" of both women and men?

Question

I chose the topic "Singlehood" for human development class. This research paper must be 10-paged in length and in APA style.

So far, I haven't made a very clear main idea of what I'll be writing about.

A friend suggested me to write about-- the common reasons associated with the singlehood of both women and men reaching/and after the age of 30? Can this be added?-->Do women and men have similar reasons for being single? How do they differ?

Or do you think it's a good idea to include what women and men think or feel about their singleness?

Your help is appreciated.

I think you'll need both ideas to complete a 10 page paper. You can do a survey and the results of which will yield much information to support your thesis...I don't know of any studies done about singleness.....perhaps your research will direct your paper and thus a thesis will be born...you've got to do some serious time in the library...

singlehood of men and women are very interesting topic,i may say. its broad and you must spend time seeking answer for this. the best thing to do is interview the singles to your area or friends or relatives or neighbors.,with this you can catch ideas. you will also learn something from them, why/what.,all the question you have in mind will get fresh answer directly from them.,they had different reasons, some are afraid to handle responsibilities, some had traumatic experience regarding relationship, some are enjoying their life to be single and there were so much reason. i have a friend , a guy, he is already 35 yrs old still single. im curious , so i ask him if he had any plans to settle down and have a family. he say..im not yet stable to handle a family, and scared to so many things. i asked him again ...what makes you scares? he say i may not be able to give my wife the best of life she wants. in short..he is afraid to handle responsibilities. interviews, chatting in internet may be a big help..good luck

Great question. I am 54 and single for the first time in 20 years. Not by choice but I love this feeling of independence and living my own life and making my own decisions about the tiny things to major things. I think many more people are going for the single life. I think I would use this one>>

I have seen a couple of interesting cases regarding this as a perpetual state of marriage.

They both seem to be a case of sisters though. One set are cousins of mine who have lived with each other for a long time. Every time one of them goes out with a man or shows interest, the other has a problem with him... and vice versa....

The other is a case of sisters where the one is a lesbian and the other doesn't seem to be sexual at all and the lesbian one carries out her encounters secretly from the other as the other will have a great jealously regarding the encounter....so they live together and love each other as sisters but are now over 40 and both with no partners to speak of. I'm sure you can find other cases very similar to this. You just have to look for them.

Well am single 46 year old woman. I chose not to date for one year. It was tough at first but before I knew it The second year rolled around. That was years ago. I am very happy. I do what I want when I want don't have to answer to anyone. I started to see a man in May it is difficult to remember or want to report my whereabouts. I am happy to be free.
