i have a couple dvd disks that won't play anymore, the error message that i get onscreen says "incorrect disk", I own and have used a dvd doctor on the dvds and it doesn't help at all. how can i fix these dvd disks as they are part of a 8 box set of a series and its not like i can go out and buy just those specific dvd disks.. will the "skins" that i have been hearing about work, and if so, how and what are they..? any ideas, i would greatly appreciate any of you genious' help... thanks in advance for taking your time to look this over.

If you know how and can, then copy just the 'MAIN MOVIE' part of the dvd to a blank dvd using the correct software. This will re-distribute the movie back onto a single-layer disk, as opposed to the compression of a dual-layer disk. Without all the other stuff on the dvd, it will play GREAT... But it takes a lot of learning if you wanna be burning ;-) Example: the new Final Destination 3 will pause and freeze during the last 30 minutes of the 'Theatrical Version'. When I went to make a copy of just the 'main movie' I had to choose between 'Theatrical Version', 'Theatrical Version Angle 2', 'Thrill-Ride Version', 'Thrill-Ride Version Angle 2', 'Full Screen Version' and 'Full Screen Version Angle 2'. Each of these is on ONE disk as a FULL movie! That's 6 (SIX) movies compressed onto one dvd. It's compressed so much, no wonder it won't play! LOL-NOT! So, I just copied the 'Theatrical Version' and it plays perfectly now! Before I could copy dvds though, the only solution was to get another dvd player that hopefully had more updated firmware to decompress everything. I use DVD Shrink & Sonic by the way. I put DVD Shrink & Nero on my mom's computer and it's even easier!!!!!! Good Luck!
